President also met with school administration, parent council and student council representatives to discuss their experiences in implementing School2030, skills-based learning curriculum and cross-fertilisation in social integration processes. School switched to official language only education in 2000. This transition was initiated by parents of children.
President Levits thanked school for its innovative methods of teaching, honing the talents of children through student-centred approach and nurturing shared values. Vera Grigorjeva, the Headmaster of Bauska 2nd Secondary School, emphasised: ‘We can build a more cohesive society by embracing the cultural diversity of all ethnic groups living in Latvia.’
