The President of Latvia outlined that Georgia should continue practical implementation of the reforms, especially in law, the rule of law, good governance, and economics. The implementation of the changes and of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement are the basis for closer cooperation between the EU and Georgia, including the allocation of EU funding. “Showing that every citizen benefits in practical terms from the implementation of the Association Agreement by contributing to economic growth in Georgia and enhancing the prosperity of its people is vital,” stated Raimonds Vējonis.
Latvia will continue its substantial support for the implementation of the Association Agreement, the advancement of reforms, and building closer economic ties with Georgia. During the conversation with the Prime Minister of Georgia, the President of Latvia reiterated continued Latvia’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
