On 14 November the institution of the president of Latvia will mark its 101st anniversary. When taking office, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs stated as one of his priorities ensuring that the institution of the president of Latvia is more open to the society of Latvia. Upon the initiative of President Rinkēvičs, the residence of the President of Latvia – Riga Castle – will henceforth be open to tours through registration on the website of the Chancery of the President of Latvia www.president.lv.
On the 101st anniversary of the institution of the president of Latvia, the first to experience the Riga Castle tour will be members of the Latvian Scout and Guide Organisation, the Young Guard and Latvian rural youth organisations, students of the Engineering High School of Riga Technical University, members of the Riga Active Seniors Alliance and a group from the Latvian Umbrella Body for Disability Organisations SUSTENTO.
Media representatives will have the opportunity to be the first to tour Riga Castle together with the President of Latvia and members of the Latvian Scout and Guide Organisation, the Young Guard and Latvian rural youth organisations.
