The authors of ten best works will have an opportunity to meet with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and visit the Presidential residence at the Riga Castle before the birthday of Latvia, whereas the top three winners will have the opportunity to address their speeches to entire Latvia together with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis at the concert on the occasion of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia on November 18.
The competition aims to promote patriotism and civic engagement, as well as to encourage students’ interest in the statehood of Latvia and the authority of the President of Latvia.
During evaluation process, the creative idea of an author or a team of students, originality of the creative work, and the compliance of the work with the theme of the competition will be taken into consideration.
Students are invited to submit their speeches by 23 October 2017 (inclusive). We invite you to send written essays by e-mail to konkurss@president.lv, indicating the name, surname, school, class, contact phone number, and e-mail address of the contestant. The video must be downloaded to one of the file storage system providers (for example, failiem.lv) and the respective link together with the name, surname, school, class, contact phone number, and e-mail address of the contestant must be sent by e-mail to konkurss@president.lv .
