Speech of the President at the festive gathering to mark the centenary of Scouting in Latvia

The movement of Scouts and Guides in Latvia and its fate vividly reflect the history of Latvia in the 20th century, as President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis reminded during his address to the guests of the festive gathering to mark the centenary of Scouting in Latvia at the Riga Latvian Society today. 

 

Having made parallels with the origin of Scouting, the President of Latvia called the Scouts and Guides continue being the messengers of the love of fatherland, patriotism, and the spiritual strength as well.
