President of Latvia Egils Levits will meet with H.E. Alar Karis, President of the Republic of Estonia, on Friday, 5 November. Meeting will focus on fruitful bilateral security, economic and higher education cooperation. Heads of both states will also discuss current European future challenges. Joint press conference will take place at University of Tartu.
President Levits will also meet with Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas, Professor Toomas Asser, Rector of the Tartu University, and Professor Lauri Mälksoo.
Egils Levits will then visit Otepää St Mary’s Lutheran Church, which is historically connected to the national flag of Estonia (blue, black and white flag of the Estonian Student Union, which later became the national flag, and in 1991 the official flag of the state of Estonia, was consecrated in the rectory of the church on 4 June 1884). President will also go to Estonian National Museum and Baltic Defence College where he will meet with Latvian students.
Upon return to Latvia, President Levits will visit Valka to meet with Vents Armands Krauklis, Chair of the Valka Regional Council.
