Egils Levits
Baltijas valstu prezidenti: Eiropas Savienībā pēc iespējas ir jānodrošina brīva preču kustība
Today, in a call to President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, President of Latvia Egils Levits and his Baltic counterparts shared the latest information from all three Baltic countries on restrictions aiming to limit the spreading of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Presidents of all three Baltic countries agreed to facilitate the setting up of a land corridor between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to help passengers who have been cleared to use land transport to return from Poland get back to Baltic country they reside in.

Egils Levits, Kersti Kaljulaid and Gitanas Nausėda urged the European Union (EU) to find a common policy that ensures as smooth and efficient movement of all necessary goods as possible under current circumstances.

Given the unique situation of the border city, Egils Levits raised the issue of internal mobility between Valka and Valga with the President Kaljulaid. President of Estonia promised to resolve the matter and find appropriate solution together with the Estonian government.
