On 3 April, the President of Latvia visited Pļaviņas Secondary School and Antūži Primary School to meet with students and teachers.

During his visit to Pļaviņas Secondary School, President Rinkēvičs explored the school's history museum and met with students to learn more about the school's activities and traditions, as well as to answer questions from the young people.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the students and teachers of Pļaviņas Secondary School for their warm welcome and for introducing me to the school's rich traditions – including the Political Club and Eco-School initiatives, the student council, the National Guard Youth Unit, participation in Black coffee soirees, and the school's strong singing tradition. A special thanks to Atis Skarbis for the exemplary presentation on the school's history. I also wish the school choir 'Versija' great success in their upcoming performances and in their participation in this summer’s XIII Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival," said President Edgars Rinkēvičs after the visit.

During his visit to Antūži Primary School, the President of Latvia familiarised himself with the school’s activities, toured the shelter and apartment-style classrooms. He also attended a vocational basic education class in the “Catering Services” programme, and enjoyed a student performance.

"I extend my gratitude to the dedicated team of teachers at Antūži Primary School for their invaluable work and unwavering energy in supporting each student in discovering and developing themselves and the world around them in a safe and nurturing environment. Thank you for your efforts in the “Inclusive Ambassadors” initiative, which plays a crucial role in shaping a modern and accessible education system for young people with special needs in Latvia," stated the President.
