On 9 October, President Edgars Rinkēvičs had a telephone conversation with President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog. President Rinkēvičs expressed his condolences to the victims of the terrorist attacks and their families, and strongly condemned the inhuman terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.
E. Rinkēvičs expressed Latvia's solidarity with the people of Israel. The President of Latvia noted Israel's right to self-defence and underlined Latvia's unwavering support for Israel in its fight against terrorists. At the same time, E. Rinkēvičs emphasised that Latvia would work actively to ensure united European Union support for Israel.
