"The development of education and science must be seen in relation to the economic processes in our country. They are interrelated. This must be a priority when looking at the governance of universities. You are the President's appointees to the Councils of higher education institutions, therefore it is your task and responsibility to carry out this work in the interests of the country," emphasised President E. Rinkēvičs.
The representatives of the Councils of higher education institutions presented to the President the work and progress achieved so far. Council members also informed about the work planned for the future. The parties agreed on the importance of active cooperation and feedback to assess progress, address challenges and adjust strategies as needed. The President drew attention to the importance of communication on reforms, both between university management and between the university and society at large.
