President of Latvia Egils Levits will attend the annual World Economic Forum in Davos on 16–20 January. He will meet with public, private and civic leaders to discuss current global developments and earmark public-private partnerships in a series of well-structured and future-oriented sessions.
Organisers of the World Economic Forum (WEF) have asked President Levits to join a discussion focused on strengthening of future democracy (livestream) and several other discussions about Ukraine, for example, special international tribunal for prosecuting Russia for its aggression against Ukraine and how to restore international order. President will also talk about geopolitical security and security in digital world, energy, economy, climate and other issues.
During working visit to Davos, President of Latvia will have numerous bilateral meetings with other world leaders, including Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation, Ilham Aliev, President of Azerbaijan, Klaus Schwab, founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, and other dignitaries.
President will meet with top managers of international corporations, including Dr. Amir Appelbaum, Chairman of the Board, Israel Innovation Authority, with whom he will discuss investing in Latvia, development of innovation ecosystem, Latvia’s advantages and areas of excellence.
