Valsts prezidenta Egila Levita dokumentu mapes vāki

President of Latvia Egils Levits will join other state leaders to mark the 30th anniversary of independence of Ukraine and inaugurate the international Crimean Platform in Ukrainian capital Kiev on 22-24 August. President of Latvia has been invited to address other heads of state at the Crimean Platform Summit and will also have bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart and take part in Ukrainian Independence Day 30th anniversary celebrations. Egils Levits will then visit Latvian Square in Kiev, Latvia’s embassy in Ukraine and give interviews to several media. 

The aim of international Crimean Platform, which will be launched during the meeting in Kiev, is to tackle the consequences of the Crimean occupation: keep Crimean occupation and annexation on the international agenda. This includes tackling of consequences such as humanitarian crisis, repressions and human rights violations faced by the population of the peninsula.
