Valsts prezidents piedalīsies Gruzijas simtgadei veltītajos svinīgajos pasākumos
President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will pay a working visit to Tbilisi from 25 May to 28 May 2018 to participate in the ceremonial events to mark the centenary of Georgia.

“Latvia and Georgia share the same values like freedom and desire to decide the destiny of our country ourselves, which encourage us to work day-to-day in order to strengthen our countries and increase the prosperity of our people,” emphasised the President of Latvia.

On Saturday, 26 May 2018, the President of Latvia will deliver a speech at the oath-giving ceremony marking the centenary of Georgia, which will take place on the Freedom Square in Tbilisi. President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, President of Finland Sauli Niinisto, President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Poland Andrzej Duda, and President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska will address the people present at the ceremony.

After the ceremony at the Freedom Square, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will participate in the roundtable discussion “Cooperation for Prosperity: Strategy of the Next Century” at the Parliament of Georgia. At the end of the day, the President of Latvia will visit the National Youth Palace, where he will attend a performance about the signing of the first Declaration of Independence of Georgia and a gala concert in honour of the centenary of the Republic of Georgia at the Georgian State Opera and Theatre Zakaria Paliashvili.
