On August 28, President of Latvia Egils Levits will pay a working visit to Finland, which is the presiding country in the Council of the European Union (EU) and a close partner of Latvia in the Baltic region.
During the working visit, he will meet with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki to discuss current affairs in the European Union, the priorities of Finnish Presidency of the EU Council, and regional security challenges.
The visit will continue with a meeting between President of Latvia Egils Levits and Vice-Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Ms Tuula Haatainen at the Parliament House in Helsinki, as well as a visit to the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats.
At the end of the visit, President of Latvia Egils Levits will give an interview for the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.
