During his visit, the President of Latvia will visit the Smiltene Secondary School, where he will meet with pupils and teachers. Raimonds Vējonis will also participate in the event dedicated to the beginning of a new school year at the Smiltene Technical School, where he will be acquainted with the opportunities offered by the Technical School for obtaining high-quality vocational education and he will see the training premises.
A meeting of the President of Latvia with Chairperson of the Smiltene Regional Council Gints Kukainis, Councillors of the Smiltene Regional Municipality, the Heads of the Rural District Administrations of Smiltene Region, and the municipal administration is also planned.
In his turn, in order to discuss important issues for business community, the President of Latvia will meet with the entrepreneurs from Smiltene Region, as well as he will get acquainted with operation of Smiltenes Impex Ltd, one of the largest wood processing companies in the municipality. Raimonds Vējonis will also visit the Iveta Purmale Dressmaker’s, who dressed up the athletes of Latvia for the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
At the end of the working visit, the President of Latvia will meet with the population of the region to listen their concerns and discuss the issues of their interest.
