On Wednesday, 8 December, President of Latvia Egils Levits will pay an official visit to Hungary and meet with its government officials to discuss Latvia-Hungary bilateral relations in the framework NATO and European Union.

As regards to economic cooperation, one of the main focuses of the visit will be the Three Seas Initiative (3SI). Latvia is currently starting preparations for the 3SI Summit and Business forum, which will take place in Riga (Latvia) next year and has launched active consultations with all 3SI countries and partners.

Research cooperation, especially on cancer treatment, is another key area of cooperation. President Levits will be accompanied on this official visit by Professor  Mārcis Leja of the Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine of the University of Latvia and Professor Haralds Plaudis from Riga East University Hospital board.
