President of Latvia, Foreign Affairs Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, President of the Constitutional Court and former judge of the European Court of Human Rights Ineta Ziemele, Chair of the Latvian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, diplomatic and international human rights experts will come together to discuss how Latvia can influence and strengthen the future of the Council of Europe.
Council of Europe was founded in 1949 and is the oldest political organisation in Europe. CoE develops international human rights, democracy and rule of law standards that are binding to all 47 member states of the organisation. Latvia is a member of the CoE since 1995.
