Raimonds Vējonis
President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will pay a working visit to the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, on Monday, 31 July 2017, where the Presidents of the three Baltic States will meet with Vice-President of the United States Mike Pence.

During the meeting, the officials will discuss the security situation in the region, strategic cooperation between the Baltic States and the United States in the field of security and defence, EU-USA relations, cooperation in the fight against global terrorism, as well as threats to cyberspace and information space.

“This year, the historically important decision for Latvia made by the NATO Summit in Warsaw, has been implemented resulting in deployment of the NATO multinational battalions in the three Baltic States and Poland. We thank the United States and all the allies for solidarity and unity in implementing this decision. Latvia seriously treats both its commitment to NATO and its security, thus we continue investing in national defence. That is the basis for further deepening cooperation with our allies, including our strategic ally, the United States,” emphasised Raimonds Vējonis.

A detailed program of the visit and information on media accreditation will be sent separately.
