On Thursday, 7 April, President of Latvia Egils Levits will make a working visit to the Republic of Moldova. He will meet with his Moldovan counterpart, President Maia Sandu, to discuss current geopolitical and security situation, deepening of bilateral ties, European integration of Moldova and reform progress. Egils Levits will also deliver humanitarian aid from Latvia to Ukrainian Refugee Centre in Chisinau.
President of Latvia will be accompanied on his working visit to Moldova by Interior Minister Marija Golubeva and Commander of Border Force General Guntis Pujāts who will meet with their respective counterparts from Moldovan Interior Ministry and Border Force.
Latvian national flag carrier, airBaltic, has agreed to provide the return flight to Moldova to help deliver humanitarian aid from Latvia to Ukrainian Refugee Centre in Chisinau and bring Ukrainian refugees from Chisinau Centre to Latvia on its way back.
Humanitarian aid assembled by Latvian companies and non-governmental organisations includes food and personal hygiene items.
