On Friday, 10 June, President of Latvia Egils Levits will travel to Bucharest of NATO Eastern Flank (B9 or Bucharest Nine) Summit to agree on a common position regarding reinforcement of allied presence in the region, which will officially be approved during NATO Madrid Summit at the end of June.
Heads of B9 states will discuss current security situation and the effects of Russian-Ukrainian war, enlargement of NATO and accession of Sweden and Finland, military, humanitarian and other assistance to Ukraine.
Working visit of President of Latvia to Romania will also include bilateral meeting with President of Romania Klaus Werner Iohannis.
