On 22 April, during the official visit to Pristina (Kosovo), President of Latvia Egils Levits met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti. President Levits expressed Latvia’s support for further reforms in Kosovo and Latvia’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as defence, economy and transatlantic security.
Kosovo can count on continued support from Latvia to country’s European integration, membership in Council of Europe, participation in NATO’s Partnership for peace and other frameworks, said President of Latvia.
President Levits and Prime Minister Kurti discussed current security situation in Europe and agreed that unlawful invasion of Ukraine by Russia is a strong impetus for Europe to reinforce its security architecture and ensure lasting peace to prevent further aggressions.
