On 11 July, President of Latvia Egils Levits visited US Navy 6th Fleet destroyer USS Arleigh Burke. According to Egils Levits, visit of USS Arleigh Burke to Latvia is important and crucial for the security of the Baltic region.
Together with NATO Allies and partners, USS Arleigh Burke is currently on its second patrol mission in US Navy Europe area of operations. USS Arleigh Burke began patrol mission in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea in June. USS Arleigh Burke mission in the Baltic Sea will further strengthen diplomatic ties between NATO Allies.
