On 18 March, the President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited “E. Gulbja Laboratorija” Ltd in Riga to learn more about the company’s operations and meet with its management representatives.
During the visit, the President was shown the sample collection and testing facilities, as well as the molecular biology laboratories where reaction preparations are conducted. He was also introduced to the innovative technologies used by the company in its daily operations, including robots developed by the Latvian company “NovaticLabs,” which transport and unload test tubes within the laboratory offices.
““E. Gulbja Laboratorija” plays an active role in conducting state-funded medical examinations and is a crucial and responsive partner in public health monitoring. The company not only performs primary medical tests but also invests in expanding the capacity for faster and more comprehensive disease diagnostics within Latvia. It was also fascinating to see how the company automates laboratory processes using robots developed in Latvia,” said the President after the visit.
During the visit, President Rinkēvičs and the company representatives also discussed potential collaboration opportunities between the laboratory and the defence sector.
