Valsts prezidents aicina apmeklēt Latvijas muzejus
On Wednesday, 27 May, President of Latvia Egils Levits and First Lady Andra Levite will visit Rundāle Palace to meet staff of the museum and see the current exhibition. President and First Lady will also plant a rose tree in Palace’s Rose Garden. President Levits and Andra Levite will continue their museum tour with Latvian National Museum of Art on Friday, 29 May.

I am certain that by visiting different places in Latvia, and learning more about them, you will not only feel fulfilled but will also gain better understanding of our history, land and state. Visit of the President of Latvia and the First Lady to Rundāle Palace includes a meeting with Laura Lūse, Director of the Rundāle Palace Museum, and art historian and painter Imants Lancmanis, who has been museum’s ‘soul’ for many years, as well as Rundāle Palace Museum Research Department Chief Expert and curator Lauma Lancmane. Egils Levits and Andra Levite will then tour the main exhibition of the Palace and exhibition ‘From the Gothic Style to Art Nouveau’, plant rose tree ‘Marga’ created by breeder Dzidra Rieksta in the Palace’s Rose Garden and walk around the Palace Garden.

President and First Lady will visit the Latvian National Museum of Art to see the exhibition ‘Family’ created by Ēriks Apaļais.
