Egils Levits
Valsts prezidents aicina valdību plašāk diskutēt par “zaļās” lauksaimniecības politiku Latvijā
On 10 June, during a video call, President of Latvia Egils Levits and Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš discussed issues linked to Latvia’s agricultural policy, digital transformation agenda and current progress on regional reform.

One of the major focuses of the video call was how national agricultural policy can promote green transformation, an environmental sustainability priority defined by the European Commission for all European Union (EU) member states. President of Latvia urged the Prime Minister to initiate a broader government discussion on gradual transition of current national agricultural policy towards biological farming to meet the objectives of European Green Deal.
