‘Ēriks Apaļais’ art is very vivid and multidimensional. It combines philosophy, painting and semantics. Now, at a time when our lives have slowed down, I urge everyone to visit the Latvian National Museum of Art and appreciate the paintings of this unique young generation Latvian painter,’ said the President after the exhibition.
Egils Levits, painter Ēriks Apaļais and Director of the National Musuem Māra Lāce discussed the history of the museum and many outstanding Latvians that had contributed to it, philosophical dimensions of art and how artificial intelligence gradually enters the world of art.
Director of the Latvian National Museum of Art thanked President Levits for visiting the museum and pointed to an interesting coincidence. Egils Levits is visiting museum on the same day, 29 May, when he was elected the President of Latvia by the parliament a year ago. ‘Thank you for giving us security and strength,’ said Māra Lāce.
There are only a couple of days left to catch the solo exhibition of Ēriks Apaļais ‘Family’ in the National Museum of Art. Exhibition ends on Sunday, 31 May.
