President of Latvia Egils Levits has continuously emphasised the need to analyse the causes for delayed criminal proceedings and find appropriate solutions. Today, President Levits met with the ‘Judicial Five’ – Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns, Chair of the Saeima Legal Affairs Committee Juta Strīķe, Chair of the Saeima Legal Affairs Committee Judicial Policy Subcommittee Inese Lībiņa-Egnere and Chair of the Saeima Legal Affairs Committee Criminal Law Policy Subcommittee Andrejs Judins – to discuss the possible solutions.
President shared the outcomes of the discussion with mass media following the meeting.
