On 14 November, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte jointly participated in the final demonstration of the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia military exercise "Resolute Warrior 2024" at the camp base Ādaži. E. Rinkēvičs expressed gratitude to NATO allies for their contribution to enhancing deterrence and defence capabilities. Particular recognition was given to Canada for its role as the lead country of the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia. The President of Latvia and the NATO Secretary General agreed on the NATO force readiness demonstration as a powerful deterrence signal and the exercise as an essential confirmation of Allied collaboration on the battlefield.
During the bilateral meeting, both parties emphasised the necessity of increasing defence spending in order to fulfil the Alliance's commitments and regional plans, to enable the requisite investments in the defence industry and to provide military support to Ukraine.
