Supreme Court justice Erlens Kalniņš gave judicial oath to the President of Latvia Egils Levits at the Riga Castle on 11 January.
‘Human rights is the discipline of law that shows the course of history of a nation through constant progress of established human rights. You possess deep knowledge about human rights, a quality that is instrumental in achieving better judgements of the Supreme Court. I hope you will find time for academic exploits in your life as a judge because your notable academic contributions have already left deep impact on people of Latvia,’ said President Levits as he swore in justice Kalniņš.
