President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will participate in the occasion to mark the historic events “Welcoming Ship Saratov in Liepāja - 100”

Paying tribute to the crucial events for Latvia a hundred years ago, when Liepāja became the headquarters of the Latvian temporary government, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will participate in several occasions to mark the historic events “Welcoming Ship Saratov in Liepāja - 100” on 27 June 2019.

The President of Latvia will attend an ecumenical church service at Saint Anna’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liepāja at 1 p.m.

Later, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will visit the performance of reconstructed historic event “Welcoming Ship Saratov in Liepāja” and will address the audience. At the end of the day, the President of Latvia will take part in a procession from the Muitas Square to Jānis Čakste Square.

During the day at the Old Wharf in Liepāja, the President of Latvia will participate in the ceremonial in the presentation of a flag to the Torpedo Craft Squadron of the Marine Corps of the National Armed Forces.
