Therefore, the President of Latvia will sign an order tomorrow that would invalidate his invitation to Mr Bordāns to form the Cabinet of Ministers.
During the meeting, the President of Latvia thanked Mr Bordāns for his attempt to form a government and expressed the regret about the inability of political parties to agree on support for the government formed by Mr Jānis Bordāns.
The President of Latvia will continue consultations on a possible candidate for the post of Prime Minister after the national holiday. “I expect that the political parties will use this time to continue consultations and seek common denominators,” stated the President of Latvia.
It is planned that the President of Latvia will meet with Mr Aldis Gobzems, candidate Prime Minister from the political party KPV LV, and Mr Artis Pabriks, candidate Prime Minister from the Union of Political Parties “Attīstībai/ Par!” in order to hear their vision of the future government-forming process immediately after the national holiday.
