When addressing representatives of Latvian and German companies, the President of Latvia pointed out that today Germany was the second largest foreign trade partner for Latvia; both countries shared long-standing and fruitful cooperation in transport characterised by an excellent air network and active collaboration with German ports by providing efficient freight and passenger flows.
“In the era of rapid technological development, almost every area of our cooperation is related to digital solutions, development of new technology, innovation, science, and research. There are both infrastructure and smart and creative scientists and entrepreneurs in Latvia for innovative ideas and products to appear. We have the excellent digital infrastructure and digital solutions that open up wide opportunities for cross-industry collaboration,” outlined the President of Latvia.
In conclusion, the President of Latvia stressed, “I am convinced that our existing and future cooperation will provide new opportunities for both Latvian and German companies to integrate into international value chains and become stronger and more competitive in both Europe and global markets.”
During Latvia and Germany Business Forum, the Latvian Association of Information and Communication Technology and the Hamburg Information Technology Cluster Association Hamburg@work signed a co-operation agreement that stipulated further closer cooperation in the development of joint ICT projects, the exchange of knowledge and new technology under development, as well as opening the way for broader use of mutual innovative tools to strengthen cooperation in digitalisation.
