On 7 December, President of Latvia Egils Levits took part in the time capsule ceremony for the Rail Baltica international train station and added his message for the future generations.
President of Latvia also added his message for future generations to the time capsule:
‘Since ancient times, Latvia was closely connected with Europe’s largest centres. People, ideas and resources flowed in both directions. There were roads that led to Rome, Paris, Warsaw and Berlin, also to Daugavpils, Jelgava, Valka, Riga and Liepāja.
Rail Baltica will bring Latvia back into European railway network.
Rail Baltica will strengthen the cultural cohesion of Europe.
Latvia is and will remain on the right track!’
