President of Latvia: Quality healthcare and respectful treatment of patients must be ensured at all times

On 23 January, upon the initiative of the Healthcare Employers’ Association (VADDA), President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with representatives of the organisation at the Riga Castle to learn about the VADDA’s vision regarding the role of private medical institutions in the healthcare system as well as the prospects for raising the efficiency of the health care system.

E. Rinkēvičs expressed his gratitude to the private medical institutions for their involvement and cooperation with the public sector in mitigating the negative consequences of the crisis caused by the pandemic. "For a patient, it is not of utmost importance whether the specialist he meets is employed by a public or private company. In all cases, however, patients must receive quality healthcare and respectful treatment. I would like to thank all those in the Latvian healthcare sector who ensure this throughout their daily work," said the President of Latvia.
