On 24 January, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže at the Riga Castle. During the meeting, the parties discussed the Minister's report on achievements in 2024 and planned activities in Latvia's foreign policy and European Union matters for 2025.
President Rinkēvičs emphasised that the primary objective of Latvia’s foreign policy and diplomacy should focus on strengthening the nation’s security and promoting the country’s economic growth.
During the meeting, the officials exchanged views on Latvia’s position and actions in strengthening transatlantic relations, further support for Ukraine, and other foreign policy.
