On 15 July, at the Riga Castle, President Edgars Rinkēvičs presented a Certificate of Merit to Venta Kocere, the long-serving director of the Academic Library of the University of Latvia, philologist and researcher Dr. h. c. philol. Venta Kocere.
"Your academic and social contributions to the advancement of intercultural collaboration and the promotion of cultural and historical heritage has served Latvia's global image and reputation. You are a true ambassador of Latvian culture. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to Latvia throughout your lifetime!" the President's Certificate of Merit said.
