On 17 June, President of Latvia Egils Levits congratulated Latvian conductor Jānis Erenštreits on his 80th birthday and presented a Certificate of Merit.

You are the creator and headmaster of Riga Cathedral Choir School, have mentored generations of young choral singers, given Latvian culture many new talented musicians and promoted Latvia internationally. Your radiant personality, talent and passion has helped promote the diversity of choral singing and reach hearts of many people. I admire your role in development of choral singing, traditions of song and dance and cultural education in Latvia!’ says the Certificate of Merit presented by Egils Levits.
