On 16 June, President of Latvia Egils Levits congratulated Juris Strenga on his 85th birthday and presented the actor and director a Certificate of Merit.
‘I am honoured and pleased to present the Certificate of Merit of the President of Latvia to you. Without you, Latvian theatre would be less exiting. You are the key figure of Latvian theatre. You have set the bar very high. Thank you for devoting your life to theatre, film, literature and Latvian culture! Latvia would be a lot less without your creative contribution,’ Egils Levits said as he presented the Certificate of Merit.
