In his remarks to the participants of hackathon President of Latvia Egils Levits emphasised the special significance of the event and unique circumstances in which it takes place: ‘Latvia and other countries of the world are fighting against an invisible enemy. Moments like these require us to be sharp-witted and able to find solutions in difficult circumstances. We also need to show solidarity and empathy towards fellow countrymen and people around the world. Creativity and solidarity are values that transcend the physical borders and bring global community together in search of response to current challenges.’ Egils Levits expressed his gratitude to organisers, participants and mentors of the hackathon for their leadership and dedication to generating and finalising ideas. He also pointed out that ‘time and place is no obstacle for great ideas that must come true’.
HackForce hackathon is the event where teams came together to generate ideas and practical solutions. 27 ideas in four most crucial fields that are in urgent need of help and easy to integrate solutions were generated during this hackathon. These fields are medicine and healthcare, COVID-19 crisis management, education, economy and business support projects. 15 finalists presented their ideas during tonight’s virtual hackathon.
