‘Today is the day when we remember the victims of the Jewish genocide, which took lives of thousands of Jewish Latvians. It was a great loss for Latvia,’ stressed President Levits when speaking about the importance of the remembrance day.
According to the President, ‘it is one of the most heinous crimes against humanity that our civilisation has ever experienced and we will keep the victims of this atrocious genocide in our memory’.
