NATO `2030 concept and the strength of the Alliance now and in the future was the main focus of the meeting. It was underlined that it is important for Latvia and other Baltic countries to take part in the debate to be able to face future security challenges. Egils Levits confirmed Latvia’s interest in taking active part in such discussion.
Egils Levits and Baiba Braže also discussed recent developments in Belarus. President Levits underlined that international community must continue to urge Belarusian government to hold free and fair repeat elections.
Baiba Braže outlined NATO’s efficient coordination with UN on efforts for handling COVID-19 pandemic and countering of disinformation.
