Valsts prezidents Zagrebā atklāj Latvijas simtgadei veltītu izstādi “Latvijas gadsimts”
On Thursday, 28 March 2019, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis opened the exhibition dedicated to the Centenary of Latvia “Latvia’s Century” in Zagreb, Republic of Croatia.

“The Exhibition “Latvia’s Century” is a true story about us, what we are, and why we exist today. Historical testimonies and knowledge gathered at the exhibition allow us to shape our future as well apart from learning from the mistakes made in the past and getting inspired from the past ideals, and carrying our most precious treasure, freedom of Latvia,” stressed the President of Latvia when launching the exhibition at the Zagreb National and University Library.

The President of Latvia has indicated that the people of Latvia and Croatia are united in their strong desire for freedom and independence. We want to build the destiny of our own people and our country. “I am convinced that we have the potential to expand our bilateral relations, especially in economics, culture, tourism, and education by approximating both our political interests and the hearts and minds of our peoples,” stated Raimonds Vējonis.

President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis presented a gift, book by Latvian photographer Gunārs Janaisis consisting of a collection of portraits “Personalities and the Epoch” to the Zagreb National and University Library, which summarises the portraits of outstanding people in Latvia.

From 27 to 29 March 2019, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis pays an official visit to the Republic of Croatia. On March 28, the President of Latvia met with President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Speaker of Parliament Gordan Jandroković, and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
