emphasised President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis on Friday, 28 December 2018, after meeting with the political parties represented in the 13th convocation of the Saeima in the Riga Castle.
“We welcome the agreement reached on the core of the new government, which could be formed by four political parties, that is, the New Conservative Party, the Union of Parties “Attīstībai / Par!”, the National Union Visu Latvijai!”–“Tēvzemei un Brīvībai/LNNK”, and the Union of Parties “Jaunā Vienotība”,” noted President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis.
“It is important to agree on the support to one candidate Prime Minister by the end of next week and to find compromises to start work on the delivery of the promises made to voters and to increase public confidence in politicians and political processes in the country as a whole,” stated the President of Latvia.
The President of Latvia has already stated that there has been no political crisis in the country, but a democratic government-building process is taking place, and there is a chance to establish a stable government under the leadership of one of the political parties elected in the parliament by acting responsibly.
