Valsts prezidents: NATO transatlantiskās drošības garantēšanā nav alternatīvas
President of Latvia Egils Levits, who is attending the NATO London Summit today, called for joint effort of all member states of the Alliance in tackling the emerging global geopolitical, technological and information space challenges.

‘Latvia strongly believes that NATO is the best response to current and future challenges. There is no alternative to NATO. The Alliance shall continue to remain the pillar of our security,’ said Egils Levits. President of Latvia praised the contribution of Canada-led NATO enhanced Forward Presence battle group Latvia and confirmed Latvia’s commitment to ensure that defence spending remains at the level of 2% of GDP.

President Levits underlined that world’s strongest alliance was conceived seven decades ago to defend values like freedom, democracy and the rule of law. Values that have safeguarded the peace, stability and security in Europe for seven decades.
