Valsts prezidents: NATO paplašinātā klātbūtne Latvijā ir spēcīgs solidaritātes piemērs
President of Latvia Egils Levits met with Commander and commanding officers of Headquarters Multinational Division North, and commanding officers and ambassadors of NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battle Group Latvia countries in Riga Castle to thank the allied forces for their input in enhancing Latvia’s national security.

During the meeting, Egils Levits emphasised the historic significance of NATO’s enhanced forward presence ‘It is a tangible example of NATO solidarity and demonstrates its commitment to defend all member states of the Alliance.’

President of Latvia also pointed out that opening ceremony of Canada-led NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia took place at Camp Ādaži two and a half years ago and since then numerous allied forces have rotated through mission ‘I am proud to welcome our allies from Canada, Albania, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and our strategic partner the United States of America. This is not an ordinary mission. This mission is crucial for ‘the security of Latvia and the whole Alliance.’
