During the meeting, the President of Latvia gave a hearing to the vision of the representatives of the LCCI Council on priorities and issues to tackle for a new Prime Minister and a new government, as well as for the 13th convocation of the Saeima in general to ensure further development of the country. The LCCI representatives noted that the capability of the new government to ensure stability and development was crucial for businesses. At the same time, it was important that the ongoing reforms in education and healthcare, as well as in public administration were continued.
In conclusion, the President of Latvia mentioned that, at the end of next week, he would begin consultations with all the political parties elected to the Saeima on the priorities of each political party and he would also find out their vision on potential partners with whom to achieve those goals.
In its turn, on Friday, 12 October 2018, the President of Latvia will have a meeting with representatives of the Presidium of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia to find out their vision of the priorities for the new Prime Minister.
