On 15 July, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with President of the Latvian Olympic Committee (LOC) Raimonds Lazdiņš at the Riga Castle.
During the meeting, the President of Latvia was introduced to Raimonds Lazdiņš's work priorities for the development of sport and the Olympic movement in Latvia, as well as discussed current issues related to the participation of the Latvian team in the Olympic Games in Paris.
The President of Latvia highlighted the necessity for the LOC to collaborate in developing strategies to encourage children and young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and to engage more actively in sports.
