President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Chair of the Council of NGO Latvian Civic Alliance Georgs Rubenis and Director Kristīne Zonberga at the Riga Castle on 29 August. Meeting, initiated by the Alliance, focused on NGO’s core activities, especially strengthening of the capacity of Latvia’s civic society and participation in the decision-making at the regional and national level.
President Rinkēvičs and representatives of the NGO Latvian Civic Alliance also discussed how to best structure dialogue between non-governmental actors and government bodies because current coordination efforts are rather fragmented on both ends of the cooperation.
