Addressing the audience, the President of Latvia expressed his gratitude for the desire of Latvians from Denmark to maintain their ties with Latvia, with particular emphasis on the activity of the Latvian Children’s schools and called on compatriots to take an active part in organizing the centenary celebration of the Republic of Latvia both in Latvia and in Denmark.
Raimonds Vējonis acknowledged that the government and nongovernmental organisations of Denmark have actively supported Latvia on its way to independence and integration into international organisations and that cooperation between Latvians and Danes in different areas will be required in the future.
