On 15 and 16 November President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs will be in Brussels, Belgium on a working visit, during which he will meet with the heads of the European Union (EU) institutions and NATO.

During the working visit, the President of Latvia will meet with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, and Roberta Metsol, President of the European Parliament. The topics planned for discussion at the meetings with EU officials are further support for Ukraine and the EU expansion policy, the situation in the Middle East, as well as migration challenges, with a special focus on the situation at the eastern border of Latvia.

During the working visit the President of Latvia will meet with Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO, to discuss the implementation of the decisions taken at the NATO Vilnius Summit, especially in regard to strengthening NATO presence in Latvia, as well as further support for Ukraine in its fights against Russia’s aggression and Europe’s future security challenges.
